1. Job Purpose


To work together with Product & Sourcing team and Engineering team to proactively identify high compliant, high quality and high performing suppliers for our RS Pro private label brand products, launching a high number of new products with full compliance to international standards at competitive prices, and managing suppliers to a higher level of performance.



2. Key Accountabilities

Identify the suppliers (with the geographic coverage including China/Taiwan/India/Southeast Asia) who has the competency and willingness to be developed into strategic supply partner for Global RS Pro brand for the assigned product category Leverage the existing suppliers or develop new suppliers to support NPI launch initiative for global market (Europe/US/APAC)Stay current with the technology evolution of the strategic suppliers and identify the new product opportunity to expand global RS Pro offering Continue to look into the opportunity to consolidate the existing spend to fewer suppliers to enhance our leverage powerEffectively solve the issues on product compliance, pricing, terms and conditions, delivery with existing suppliers

4. Scope of the Role

Accountable for

Developing a solid base of high quality suppliers able to meet the purchase cost targets based on our private label anchor pricing and margin model


Responsible forManaging supplier performance to ensure continuously improved supplier on time delivery, expedite responsiveness, and product qualityWorking with suppliers to continuously reduce the purchase costs and the total cost of ownership of the relevant sourced products
Accelerate New Product Introduction (NPI) launches, ensuring:
- exceeding the annual new product launch goal for the assigned category; and- all launches are fully compliant- all launches have complete digital content
Support regional variations in product specifications and digital content for global product reach



5. Financial & Legal Responsibilities

Maximize gross margin of relevant sourced productsMinimize total cost of ownership of sourced productsEnsure accelerated NPI launches and salesEnsure suppliers are fully compliant to ethical and product compliance

Office based with 25% domestic and international travel



7. Person Specification


Essential:
Minimum of 10 years of experience in Sourcing in a global business Fluent in Chinese (Mandarin) and English Proven track record of strong negotiation and influencing skills Strong commercial acumen with good financial and analytical skills Good understanding of manufacturing and supply chain procedures and best practice Solid business acumen and knowledge of relevant markets Flexibility and a willingness to take on a wide range of challenges Experience working in a global trading environment Focus on compliance and quality and performance as well as continuous improvement Culturally aware



Desirable:
Engineering or Business University degree Relevant category or technology knowledge in Tools & Consumables or Automation & Control or Industrial Interconnect or PPE or Electronics Experience of private label sourcing
